Class Summary: This class is designed for kids of any age who need a little help with phonics, basic reading/writing and penmanship. First, an assessment is conducted to achieve an index. Drills are used to increase mastery of phonics and sight words, we read short stories together, practice narration, do speed-reading exercises and work on basic writing skills as well as practice penmanship.

Each student is unique and learns differently, so class size is very small, and often one-on-one. The parent/guardian is encouraged to attend for the duration to observe processes and cheer on breakthroughs and incremental advancements. Our goal is progress, not perfection, the overall objective to bring the child’s confidence up as he or she begins to reach increasing levels of reading and writing proficiency by the end of the term.
