How should a Christian approach the fact that bad people do bad things? God has given us science to look at the world around us and the ability to use what we learn to help the justice system stop the guilty parties. Approaching science from a Christian perspective, this Introduction to Forensic Science course for Middle Schoolers (ages 11 and up) investigates the process of testing or analyzing materials found at a crime scene. When we conducted an informal Facebook poll about a class like this one (before commissioning its creation and publication), surprisingly, the response was overwhelming! More surprising still was the interested demographic: middle school-aged GIRLS, although boys are interested in learning about forensics, too.
Taught by Lieutenant Brad Tate (Investigator) of the Bristol, TN Police Department, Forensic Science will be taught on Thursdays from 10:30 am to 11:45 am at the Calvary Chapel (JC) Schoolhouse. The start date is January 11, and the end date is May 2.
